ENGLISH NATIVE SPEAKER
Father of 3 kids, four, six and eight.
Honestly when I first came to Austria back in 1999 I had no idea what I would be doing for a living. Now that I have been here and taught English in one form or another for almost 20 years, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
Working as a ‘native speaker’ came naturally. Through the years I have taught English to children of all ages by the most basic principle of language learning.
Learn by doing and learn in a natural environment. Around six years ago I met Heike through a former pupil’s parent, and have since worked with the children at Taptana. Be it while cooking, knitting, doing math, working on projects, playing, etc., I try to bring the English language to the children instead of pushing the kids into a classroom; sometimes that too, though.
When I look at the typical language classroom found in most schools, it’s clear my methods fit very well with those of Taptana’s educational direction. I look forward to including lots of gardening and outdoor activities this spring with the whole team as well.
